Evidence coordinates workshops communicating internationally leading research in order to increase exchange of knowledge and international cooperation.
We work for increased knowledge, skills, awareness and debate on current topics by communicating international research and trends at an early stage.

Please read: Our by-laws » Deloitte Auditt is the organization's accountant, and assists us with economical and legal advice as needed. Any surplus of the non-profit, we will use to work with the international experts and the WHO National Centre of Telemedicine, in the development of videos and educational materials. We hope to be able to support under-served populations, nations and areas with high prevalence of psychological problems due to war, terror or disasters, to communicate research according to our articles of incorporation.

The board of directors consists of: Lars H. Vik, M. Phil., Oxon, Are Holen, MD/PhD, NTNU and Pål-Ørjan Johansen, Psykolog/Cand. PhD, NTNU, who also is the director of the foundation.
In the US, we are assisted by Jacqueline Hogan, director of the New England Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (NE-HERC) as well as project manager at Harvard. Evidence has not established any formal relationship with Harvard University.
We seek advice from relevant members of our academic advisory board for network building and specialist evaluation of our seminars. So far the committee consists of Are Holen, MD/PhD, NTNU, Harrison Pope, MD, Harvard University and Ivar Bjørgen, PhD, NTNU. The committee will be expanded as needed.
Approvals:
Evidence is approved as a non-profit continued education provider by the the Norwegian Psychological association (NPF), the Norwegian Medical Association (Dnlf), The Norwegian Nurses Council (NSF) and the joint association of social educators, child welfare specialists and social workers (FO).
Our Economy:
Our basis of income is seminar fees, but we are dependent upon contributions in the first phase of establishment.

Manager
Pål-Ørjan Johansen, Cand PhD, is a NFR funded researcher at the Department of Psychology, NTNU. Johansen's focus is emotion regulation, integration of neuroscience and psychotherapy, translational research and the safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical (e.g. MDMA and DCS)-assisted exposure. He has been a Fulbright Fellow to The University of Washington, where he worked closely with Dr. Marsha M. Linehan and her treatment and research team in Seattle. He is a co-researcher in a study at The Harvard Study of Adult Development.

Academical advisory board
Ivar Bjørgen, PhD, was the founder of the Department of Psychology at NTNU, where he has also been dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences. He has been a Fulbright Fellow to Brandeis and Harvard, and has much international experience. Dr. Bjørgen is known for his work with reform of the educational system, and is for the time working with research directed towards better usage of university employees in the third phase of life.
Are Holen, MD, PhD, is a psychologist and a physician. He is vice dean at the Faculty of Medicine at NTNU and the leader of the Department of Neuroscience at NTNU, specializing in neuroscience and stress medicine. Dr. Holen has scientifically studied aspects of meditation and is active in training and teaching of meditation and process. In 1966, he started the Acem meditation school.
Harrison G. Pope, MD, is a professor of psychiatry at Harvard and at McLean psychiatric hospital. Dr. Pope has published over 250 academic articles and seven books, covering subjects such as psychopharmacology, eating disorders and critique of methodology. He is recognized as internationally leading in both psychiatry and neuroscience by the Institute of Scientific Information.
Objectives and values
The objective of Evidence Knowledge Exchange is to improve the practice of medicine and the use of the social sciences for the better in a changing world.
We coordinate seminars and meetings and work to pursue a balanced communication of research in the interest of all our relations: individuals and organizations who believe in ideas and empirical research.
We will do our utmost to (a) become the premier partner and source of international knowledge exchange in Norway and (b) reduce polarized attitudes and contribute to increased international cooperation.
